The Australian Centre Awards

The Australian Centre administers a series of prizes for outstanding endeavour in the visual arts, creative writing and biographical studies. The awards are presented on an annual or biennial basis. They are:

The Asher Literary Award

The DJ (Dinny) O'Hearn Memorial Fellowship

The Peter Blazey Fellowship

The Kate Challis RAKA Award

The Vincent Buckley Poetry Prize

Applications are invited for the 2009 Peter Blazey Fellowship, a $15,000 award for Australian writers working in the fields of life writing, autobiography or biography. For more information please visit the Peter Blazey Fellowship webpage.

The Australian Centre Literary Awards 2007 presentation

The winners of the 2007 Awards were announced at the Melbourne Writer's Festival on 30 August 2007.

In the light of the increased funds available this year, the judges agreed to make two awards to support the writing of two very different, but both equally impressive books.
